Top-Line Talks Continue as House Prepares Stopgap
House Republican leaders are plowing forward with a full-year stopgap to avert a government shutdown, as top-line spending negotiations appear to have hit a roadblock among top appropriators.
Appropriators said they were closing in on a deal on high level spending figures yesterday. But sticking points remain, including an anomaly request from the Trump administration to rescind over $20 billion from the IRS’s enforcement account.
