House Passes Three-Bill Spending Package But More Hurdles Await

Congress is one step closer to funding more agencies long term after the House passed a set of full-year funding bills, but lawmakers have more work to do before the Jan. 30 funding deadline.

The House passed a minibus (H.R. 6938) funding Commerce-Justice-Science, Energy and Water, and Interior-Environment programs for the rest of the fiscal year by 397-28 on Thursday. The Senate is expected to take up the legislation early next week.
