The House is bracing for a possible shutdown this week.
House offices received guidance this evening on how to inform employees whether they’re furloughed or not if lawmakers do not reach a deal before government funding runs out Wednesday morning, according to a memo sent by the House Administration Committee. It gives lawmakers leeway to decide which employees keep working during a shutdown, although none would be paid until it’s over.
