Top Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee are demanding information about any plans to overhaul the Department of Homeland Security’s troubled intelligence office.
Chairman Mark Green (R-Tenn.) and Rep. August Pfluger (R-Texas), who leads the panel’s counterterrorism subcommittee, wrote to Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on Monday, saying they need more details about the Intelligence and Analysis Office’s role in the department.
“The Committee on Homeland Security must be fully informed of DHS’s actions and plans to potentially reorganize any of its offices, to include I&A,” Green and Pfluger wrote in the letter, obtained by Bloomberg Government.
