Homeland Chief Noem Steps Out of Spotlight as Homan Steps In

The White House is lowering the profile of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem as bipartisan pressure mounts to oust her following shootings in Minnesota by immigration enforcement agents.

Noem notably didn’t speak at President Donald Trump’s first Cabinet meeting of the year on Thursday. It’s a shift for the former governor of South Dakota who has been among the most visible Trump Cabinet secretaries, going on raids with Immigration and Customs Enforcement and border patrol agents and becoming a staple of conservative news media.
