GOP Moderates Push ACA Bill as Launchpad for Bipartisan Deal (1)

A leading House Republican moderate who supports renewing expired Obamacare subsidies said he expects a Democrat-led three-year extension to pass Thursday and provide a legislative vehicle for senators who say they are closing in on a bipartisan agreement.

Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.), one of four centrist Republicans who signed a discharge petition to force a vote on the clean three-year extension, said he expects a “significant number of Republicans” will join him in voting for the Democratic bill despite misgivings over the lack of conservative changes. The enhanced tax credits expired at the end of last month.
