House Republicans have accused Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of refusing to follow federal immigration laws and betraying public trust in long-anticipated articles of impeachment against him.
The charges, released Sunday, took aim at the secretary’s failure to detain everyone who enters the country illegally, his embrace of immigration parole authority to allow select migrants temporarily into the country, and his alleged efforts to mislead lawmakers about the state of the border.
The Homeland Security Committee will review the measure Tuesday, and all Republicans on the panel have already said they support impeaching Mayorkas. Speaker
