GOP, Democrats Clash Over Safety Net Fraud in Minnesota

Minnesota has become the center of partisan messaging on safety-net programs and immigration policy as the White House continues its fixation on the state.

Republicans called a House Energy and Commerce oversight hearing Tuesday to examine fraud in Medicare and Medicaid. They pointed to recent Trump administration actions in Minnesota as evidence of a broader problem.

Democrats, meanwhile, accused the administration of weaponizing those concerns to justify its immigration crackdown.
