Digital Permitting Bill Passes as House Preps for More Action

Bipartisan legislation that would create a digital permitting database for federal projects to reduce delays and increase transparency passed the House Tuesday.

The bill (H.R. 4503) kicks off a vote series this week on several measures related to overhauling the energy and infrastructure permitting process. Sponsored by Reps. Dusty Johnson (R-S.D.) and Scott Peters (D-Calif.), the ePermit Act would create federal standards and a digital framework to house permitting data from across the government in a unified web portal.
