CBO Plans New Fiscal Estimates After Trump Cements Tariff Plan

The head of the Congressional Budget Office said the agency would recalculate its projections of US tariff revenue — recently estimated at $3 trillion over a decade — once the Trump administration finalizes its plans in the wake of Friday’s Supreme Court ruling.

“We are tracking it, looking to see how the administration responds,” Philip Swagel, the CBO’s director, said Monday in answering questions at the annual National Association for Business Economics conference in Washington. “We will provide as soon as we have it,” he said of the updated outlook.
