Bipartisan Bill Would Shield Air Traffic Control in Shutdowns

Future shutdowns of the federal government wouldn’t affect funding for air traffic control under bipartisan legislation introduced Tuesday.

The proposed Aviation Funding Solvency Act would allow the Federal Aviation Administration to access the Aviation Insurance Revolving Fund during future shutdowns to cover critical services, according to leading Republicans and Democrats on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee who jointly introduced it.
