Oil and gas industry executives and lobbyists see upsides — and huge risk — investing billions to rebuild Venezuela’s energy sector as President Donald Trump plans for the US to tap the nation’s oil reserves.

The turbulent situation after the US ousted Venezuela President Nicolás Maduro has put oil companies at the forefront as their representatives navigate mega opportunities that would also carry commensurate peril.
