The Trump administration’s rule ending automatic extensions for work permits would be repealed using the Congressional Review Act under S. J. Res. 99.

The interim final rule, issued by the Department of Homeland Security on Oct. 30, ended the agency’s practice of granting automatic 540-day extensions to qualifying foreign workers when their employment authorization document card expired, allowing them to continue to work.
