BGOV Bill Analysis: H.R. 4624, Boxing Rules Overhaul (1)

Boxers would be able to compete in alternative boxing systems run by private entities under a modified version of H.R. 4624, which also would modify safety and pay standards for all boxers.

The measure would create unified boxing organizations, private-sector groups that could implement their own systems for title belts and boxer rankings without relying on an existing sanctioning organization such as the World Boxing Association, World Boxing Council, and World Boxing Organization.

UBOs could act as the sanctioning organization and promoter. Those entities currently must operate independently.
