Beauty School Giants Decry Trump Rule Tying Aid to Earnings

Beauty giants including the likes of Paul Mitchell are among those pushing back on a Trump administration proposal to cut off federal aid from schools that leave their graduates worse off financially.

Under the Education Department’s proposed “Do No Harm” test, postsecondary institutions participating in the federal aid program—from elite universities to trade schools—must graduate students who go on to earn more than working adults ages 25-34 with only a high school diploma. That test kicks in four years after those graduates leave their programs.
