Airlines Side With Republican ‘Clean CR’ Call to End Shutdown

Major airlines on Thursday called for Democrats to support a spending resolution favored by Republicans to end the government shutdown.

“It is time to pass a clean CR,” United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby said at the White House flanked by Vice President J.D. Vance and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy in reference to the continuing resolution approved by House Republicans last month.

American Airlines Group Inc., Delta Air Lines Inc. and Southwest Airlines Co. on Thursday also called for extending current spending levels to reopen the government. Air traffic controllers are among the government employees working without pay as disruption ...
