AI Chip Export Controls Backed by House After Trump-Xi Talks (1)

House lawmakers introduced highly anticipated legislation aimed at limiting US exports of advanced artificial intelligence chips to China—hours after President Donald Trump said he discussed Beijing’s access to Nvidia processors with President Xi Jinping.

“This is an America First Chip Policy in action that will build sustained American AI dominance,” Rep. John Moolenaar (R-Mich.), chairman of the House Select Committee on China, said in a statement Thursday unveiling the Guaranteeing Access and Innovation for National Artificial Intelligence, or GAIN AI Act.
