Election Day in Greene’s Georgia District: BGOV Election Day

It’s special election day in a northwestern Georgia congressional district so ruby-red that the Republican nominee should win even if Democrats continue their pattern of exceeding expectations in contests held since Donald Trump returned to the presidency 15 months ago.

Republican Clay Fuller, a local district attorney, has the edge over Democrat Shawn Harris, a retired Army brigadier general, to win Tuesday’s election and succeed ex-Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in a district that gave Trump more than 68% of the vote in the 2024 election.
