University of Michigan Wants Wrestler’s Sex Assault Suit Nixed

The University of Michigan, which faces numerous claims alleging a former school doctor sexually assaulted student athletes, asked a federal trial court to dismiss as untimely a suit by a wrestler who says he was molested in the 1990s.

The university also claims state sovereign immunity from suit for all claims except those for civil rights violations under Title IX, according to its motion to dismiss filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
