Tax Lawyer Allegedly Stole $1.2M From Former NFL Player

A Northern California tax attorney surrendered to authorities Oct. 30 after being charged with a scheme to steal $1.2 million in refunds fraudulently obtained on behalf of his NFL player client, prosecutors announced in a written statement.

Hiram M. Martin is accused of falsifying returns for Antrel Rolle, a former Pro Bowl NFL safety who played for the Arizona Cardinals, New York Giants, and Chicago Bears. Rolle, who won a Super Bowl with the Giants in 2012, retired in November 2016.
