Puerto Rico Mayor Took Cash, Rolexes in Contract Plot, DOJ Says

The mayor of a Puerto Rican town declared himself guilty of taking more than $100,000 in cash and luxury watches in exchange for routing more than 50 municipal contracts worth more than $9 million to a company called JR Asphalt, said Stephen Muldrow, U.S. attorney for the District of Puerto Rico.

In a press conference Thursday, Muldrow said Felix Delgado-Montalvo, who stepped down as mayor of Catano this week, had been cooperating with authorities.
