Republicans Want Former Democratic Lawmaker’s Conviction Vacated

Eight Republican state attorneys general want the full Eleventh Circuit to vacate the fraud conviction of former Florida Rep. Corrine Brown (D), arguing the trial court improperly removed a juror who said the Holy Spirit told her Brown was innocent.

The district court’s decision adversely affects people of faith by treating the juror’s comment as per se disqualifying, the AGs say in their friend of the court brief filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
