The judge overseeing the criminal case against former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn asked the federal appeals court in Washington to reconsider its order that he dismiss the case without further review.
U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan’s Thursday request for a so-called en banc rehearing by a larger panel of appellate judges prolongs a legal battle that has raised major questions about the independence of the judiciary as well as the Justice Department under Attorney General William Barr and President Donald Trump.
