Dennis Botticello and Glen Locke have been arrested on charges of first-degree manslaughter and first-degree reckless endangerment after a July 2022 trench collapse killed a Botticello Inc. employee in Vernon, Conn., the Labor Department said Friday.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration proposed penalties of $375,021and issued the construction contractor a citation for willful violations involving allegedly not providing legally required safeguards, which the company has contested, according to the department.
Dennis Botticello is the owner of Botticello Inc., and Glen Locke is a Connecticut-based equipment operator, DOL said.
