Detainee Wins Revival of Claims Against Georgia Prison Officials

Lyncoln Danglar, a citizen of Grenada, has another chance to argue that Georgia prison officials violated his constitutional rights by prolonging his detention in a state prison instead of transferring him to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, an appeals court ruled.

ICE placed an immigration detainer on Danglar and issued a warrant for his arrest after an agent met with the plaintiff. But ICE failed to take Danglar into custody on the designated date. Danglar remained in segregation at the Georgia prison for almost three additional months before ICE took custody.
