USPS Sued for Stripping Postal Police Officers of Authority (1)

The Postal Police Officer Association filed suit against the U.S. Postal Service Monday in federal court in Washington for allegedly halting all mail protection and other law-enforcement activities.

The USPS violated its collective bargaining agreement by unilaterally declaring on Aug. 25, 2020, that Postal Police Officers have no law enforcement authority to protect the integrity of the mail and the safety of postal employees away from the confines of its post offices and other properties, the complaint alleges.
