Uber Still Can’t Shake Female Rider’s Sex Assault Claims

Uber Technologies Inc. found limited success against claims filed by a California woman who said she was assaulted by an Uber driver in 2017, when a San Francisco judge dismissed a fraud claim but permitted others—including sexual battery and assault claims—to advance.

The Jane Doe plaintiff in this case is one of eight female Uber passengers who sued the rideshare company in San Francisco Superior Court, describing a “toxic male culture” at Uber that led to the individual assaults.
