The Trump administration’s new interpretation of its “public charge” rule is likely inconsistent with federal immigration law and negatively and disproportionately impacts both the disabled and immigrants, the Seventh Circuit said.
The federal appeals court preliminarily barred enforcement of the Immigration and Nationality Act rule in Cook County, Illinois, but declined to block the regulation nationally.
