Tetra Pak, World’s Top Food Packager, Seeks 100% Renewable Power

Tetra Pak Inc., the world’s biggest food packaging firm, aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions 58 percent by 2040 and use renewables for 100 percent of its energy by 2030.

The Swedish maker of milk cartons and sauce packets will reduce emissions even while increasing production, the company’s Vietnam managing director Jeff Fielkow said at a Sweden-Vietnam business summit May 7 in Hanoi.

Tetra Pak has three avenues for shrinking its carbon footprint: installing solar panels where it’s feasible, buying renewable power from suppliers where it’s not, and increasing energy efficiency.
