Supreme Court Takes on Career Criminal Act, Again (1)

The U.S. Supreme Court agreed April 2 to hear a case that asks whether robbery is a “violent felony” under the much-litigated Armed Career Criminal Act.

The act has become a fixture at the high court in recent years, notably its 2015 decision in Johnson v. United States, which found part of the act unconstitutionally vague.

The act imposes minimum 15-year prison sentences for firearms offenders who have three or more prior violent felony or serious drug convictions.
