State Farm Must Defend Grandparents in Lawsuit Over ATV Fatality

State Farm must defend a Texas couple whose 10-year-old grandson died in an all-terrain vehicle accident against a lawsuit brought by the boy’s mother, the Fifth Circuit said Monday.

The vehicle crash report prepared after Jayden Meals’ accident contained an admission from Janet and Melvin Richards that the crash occurred off of the residential property they insured, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit said in a per curiam opinion.
