Republicans Allege Capitol Security Screens Unfairly Target Them

Two Republican members of Congress filed a federal lawsuit in Washington claiming the new security screening procedures at the U.S. Capitol, and their associated fines, are being enforced against Republicans while Democrats get a pass.

The lawsuit by Reps. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.) and Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), which was filed Sunday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, also says the security process is interfering with the minority House party’s right to vote.
