Reprimand for Lawyer Who Got Suspended Sentence in Traffic Death

A Massachusetts lawyer who received a suspended jail sentence for fatally striking a pedestrian with her car agreed to a public reprimand as a professional sanction.

Erin Marie O’Connor violated ethics rules prohibiting criminal conduct and acts reflecting adversely on fitness to practice, the Board of Bar Overseers of the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts said Sept. 3.

O’Connor pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation in 2019, the board’s order said.
