Billie Jean King, Megan Rapinoe, WNBA players Layshia Clarendon and Brianna Turner, and more than 150 current and former female professional athletes urged the Second Circuit on Thursday to uphold dismissal of a lawsuit seeking to ban transgender athletes from participating in girls’ sports in Connecticut.
“Sports thrives on diversity,” the athletes said in a friend of the court brief filed in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. “Sports is a critical and beneficial part of the school experience for many students.”
