A coalition of Republican attorneys general can’t intervene yet in the youth climate lawsuit Juliana v. US, according to an order issued by a federal judge.
Judge Ann Aiken of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon denied on Tuesday a motion to intervene submitted by Alabama and 16 other states in June 2021.
The attorneys general can refile once a decision is made on whether to resurrect the lawsuit with an amended complaint, according to Aiken’s minute order.
