Bipartisan legislation requiring greater transparency of financial disclosures for federal judges neared final congressional approval with Senate passage.
The Courthouse Ethics and Transparency Act (S. 3059) cleared the Senate by unanimous consent on Thursday. The House passed its versionl (H.R. 5720) in December.
The Democratic-led chambers must resolve slight differences between each proposal before a final measure can be approved and sent to President Joe Biden for his signature.
