Biden Gets New Ninth Circuit Seat as McKeown Stepping Back (1)

Ninth Circuit Judge Margaret McKeown will take senior status when her successor is confirmed, opening another seat for President Joe Biden to fill on the largest federal appeals court.

McKeown informed the White House on Tuesday of her plans to take senior status, a form of semi-retirement, said Ninth Circuit Clerk of Court Molly Dwyer.

The San Diego-based judge was appointed to the court by Bill Clinton in 1998.
