New York Court Suspends 2,353 Lawyers for Registration Lapses

A New York state appeals court suspended 2,353 attorneys for allowing their required registrations to lapse.

The New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, Third Department, issued a ruling May 16 suspending all but 248 of the 2,601 attorneys who were named as having lapsed registrations in a motion filed by its Attorney Grievance Committee in late 2018.

The attorneys had until April 8 to respond to the motion filed in the Albany-based court, which listed them as having missed at least two consecutive biennial registration deadlines.
