NAACP Conferences Push States to Modify Election Rules

Minnesota agreed to suspend enforcement of its witness requirement for mail-in voting for the upcoming general election in November, and a state court judge in St. Paul signed off on the agreement the same day that the NAACP sued Louisiana over mail-in voting restrictions.

There are fewer than 100 days before the general election in November. The coronavirus pandemic shows no sign of fading ahead of the fall, and the production of a widely-available vaccine isn’t expected for months yet.
