Molson Coors ‘Vizzy’ Seltzer Sales Not Blocked in Trademark Case

A Texas federal court won’t block the sale of Molson Coors Beverage Co.‘s “Vizzy” hard seltzer in a trademark case brought by the maker of “Brizzy” seltzer, because Brizzy’s maker failed to show confusion was likely between the two brands.

Future Proof Brands LLC has sold Brizzy since 2019. Molson is preparing to launch Vizzy this spring. Future Proof sued Molson for trademark infringement, and requested a preliminary injunction barring Molson from selling or marketing its seltzer.

The court rejected Future Proof’s request because it didn’t prove it was likely to win on the merits of its infringement claim. ...
