LGBTQ advocacy groups, Santa Clara County, Calif., and health-care providers are asking a federal court to stop the federal government from enforcing a rule to protect health workers with moral objections set to take effect in July.

President Donald Trump’s rule invites discrimination in the provision of health care services by allowing individuals, institutional health-care providers, and even people with tangential relationships to care, such as receptionists, nurses, lab technicians, and janitors, to refuse to provide information based on their own personal moral or religious objections, the civil rights advocates said in their complaint.
