Jenner & Block Hires Trademark Practice Leader

April 19, 2016, 10:05 PM

Earlier this week, eight government contracts partners left Jenner & Block to join MoFo . On Tuesday, the Chicago-based litigation firm announced it’s hiring two partners from Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton.

Benjamin R. Mulcahy is joining in Los Angeles as co-chair of its trademark, advertising and unfair competition practice, while Gina Reif Ilardi is joining in New York as a partner in the content, media and entertainment practice.

A Sheppard Mullin spokesman wished the two departing lawyers well.

According to a Jenner & Block press release, Mulcahy represents motion picture studios, broadcast and cable television networks, retailers and consumer brands and their advertising agencies in their marketing efforts.

Ilardi, meanwhile, counsels motion picture and television studios, website operators, cable, broadcast and out-of-home (OOH) networks, and advertising and marketing agencies. She advises them in their marketing initiatives, as well as in copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property rights.

Jenner & Block managing partner Terrence Truax said in a statement: “Their personalities and practices are an excellent fit.”
