Montana Forest Plan Review Appeal Planned After Injunction Loss

An environmental group will continue to seek an updated environmental review for the forest plan for Custer Gallatin National Forest and three projects approved under the plan, according to a notice of appeal filed in a Montana federal court.

The U.S. Forest Service was granted its motion to dismiss after the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana ruled “no ongoing major federal action exists” that could require additional review of the 1987 forest plan.
