Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is in the hospital after surgery to remove malignant cells.
She “underwent a pulmonary lobectomy today at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City,” a statement by the Supreme Court’s Public Information Office said.
The malignant cells were discovered while undergoing treatment after she fell in November resulting in rib fractures.
There was no evidence of any remaining disease post-surgery, the PIO said. Currently, no further treatment is planned.
She is “resting comfortably and is expected to remain in the hospital a few days,” the release said.
