A “frivolous” lawsuit over a cheese trademark led a federal judge in Idaho to grant Lakeview Cheese Co.'s request for monetary sanctions.
Nelson-Ricks Cheese Co. appears to be “attempting to dispose of its assets or, at the very least, is playing fast and loose with Lakeview’s discovery requests by shuffling assets,” Judge David C. Nye said for the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho.
The court granted Lakeview’s motion to compel information about Nelson-Ricks’ assets and simultaneously denied Nelson-Ricks’ motion to quash Lakeview’s interrogatories and subpoenas.
