Federal prosecutors in Los Angeles June 20 charged a former Dentons litigation associate with trying to extort money and property from the firm (United States v. Potere, C.D. Cal., 2:17-mj-01555, filed 6/20/17).
Michael Potere tried to extract $210,000, a piece of artwork, and other items from Dentons by threatening to publicly release sensitive internal documents that he secretly downloaded from a partner’s email account, according to an FBI agent who orchestrated a sting operation to catch him in the act.
