Federal Circuit Judge Probes Drugmakers in Teva Cancer Drug Case

Judge Richard G. Taranto asked detailed questions of both sides at argument in a dispute between Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Inc. and companies that want to make generic versions of its Bendeka cancer drug.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware found Mylan NV and Apotex Inc.'s proposed generics infringe four Teva patents on the drug. If the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit upholds the ruling, Teva’s drug could remain free from generic competition for more than a decade.
