Farm Supply Company Loses ERISA Suit Over Health Reimbursements

A Nebraska farming supply company can’t use ERISA to accuse its health plan service providers of quietly cutting reimbursement rates so low that the company’s employees were subject to collection efforts from their doctors, a Nebraska federal judge ruled.

Central Valley Ag Cooperative failed to show that any of the service providers qualified as fiduciaries under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, Senior Judge Laurie Smith Camp ruled Aug. 30.
