Mobile retail startup Enjoy Technology, Inc., has named former
Meriweather joins Enjoy, headquartered in Palo Alto, Calif., as the company prepares to go public through a SPAC merger with Marquee Raine Acquisition Corp. She appears to succeed former CLO Samantha Villanueva-Meyer, who is now Enjoy’s chief compliance officer, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Enjoy, which will be valued at roughly $1.2 billion in the deal, operates mobile stores in more than 85 cities for Apple and telecommunications companies like AT&T, Rogers Communications, and BT Group. Its services include “Enjoy Experts” who help customers set up their technology products at home.
Enjoy was founded in 2014 by former Apple Inc. executive Ron Johnson, who is currently the company’s CEO and is credited with creating Apple’s retail division.
In a Wednesday statement, Johnson said that “Tiffany’s exceptional legal acumen and compliance expertise will be essential in helping guide Enjoy as we prepare for our next phase of growth as a public company following the closing of Enjoy’s business combination with MRAC.”
The special purpose acquisition company counts Chicago Cubs owner Tom Ricketts as one of its chairmen.
Cooley and Weil, Gotshal & Manges are advising Enjoy and Marquee Raine in the deal, respectively, according to an April 28 statement. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter.
Meriweather comes to Enjoy from advertising company Clear Channel Outdoor, where she was senior vice president of legal for more than a year. She previously worked for CBS Corp. and Skadden Arps in New York.
Enjoy also named Ettienne Brandt as chief commercial officer on Wednesday. Earlier this year, the company appointed former Kellogg executive Fareed Khan as chief financial officer and TaxDay founder Jonathan Mariner as chief administrative and people officer.
