Court Won’t Let Lawyer Withdraw Since Client Didn’t Give O.K.

A federal trial court won’t let a Pennsylvania attorney withdraw from representing her client in his civil rights case against local officials because it would harm him.

“The court finds that the plaintiff would undoubtedly be prejudiced by Attorney Pollick’s withdrawal, particularly given that there remains pending a motion to dismiss to which a response is past due from the plaintiff,” Judge Malachy E. Mannion of the Middle District of Pennsylvania said Feb. 19.
